This design brief was for a more classic styled catamaran from a very experienced sailor who knew exactly what he wanted and directed each part of the designs features. For its length, the Young 90 is light displacement and has very good performance ratios. The mast is carbon with PBO rigging and the sail plan features a large roach mainsail and three roller furling headsails including a huge code zero.
The boarding area and aft stairs is very inviting up into the cockpit areas and open saloon giving an impression of great space and comfort. The interior layout was designed by renowned interior designers Rhoades and Young. The forward end of the saloon has access to a forward cockpit which is an ideal place to enjoy sailing from in nice conditions. The saloon features a bar that is also open to the cockpit. The style is very “east coast” and comfortable in all areas. There are 4 guest cabins, skipper’s cabin and a twin berth crew cabin.
This is a vessel designed to cruise exotic and far away places. The client is a very keen fisherman and this design also includes a special “Flats” style dinghy for fishing very shallow areas.
